To wander in ancient ruins, to imagine, bring back to life, what once was, is the responsibility of the creative. It is also the purpose of the believer.
For we all have fallen to our selves, our sins, and are called to die to ourselves and let God move and make us new again through the waters of baptism. From this grave, these ruins, we are rebuilt and made into a new home, a stunning palace, that He might live in us.
What a beautiful day to understand that our ruins, our failings, don't have to remain as such, but that God, through His wonderful gift of grace and mercy, builds up a new creation each and every day. And in this new creation, we not only live, but He lives in us - and His light from our windows, His and our laughter from the garden as we walk in the eve, serves as a beacon to those who still live in ruin - that they too might accept the invitation of the Great Architect.
May your ruins be brought low that He might build you up once again.
